As the interim manager of the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) production at the Central Unit at Kofisah in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality, Mr. Amuetey supervises all activities at the unit and trains casuals on all relevant technical activities in relation with the commercial production of the BSF larvae and organic fertilizer. He leads the technical management, and controls the optimal BSF production processes. He manages the production team to improve production outcomes. As the production manager, he leads the market linkages of the BSF product buyers to establish reliable market in the area. Prior to joining the IITA BBEST Project, Mr. Amuetey worked with the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI) as a technologist. He managed the BSF colony and performed research activities on the BSF. He built his capacity in rearing and managing fruit flies. He worked in maintaining QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS in the laboratory and field including hygiene, safety and security. He assisted in research and commercialization activities in the Commission.
