Enoch Selorm Kofi Ofori (Ph.D.) is a research scientist (Entomology) with the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.
He has over 11 years of experience in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) of pests of agricultural importance, sustainable agriculture techniques, and Insect diversity and relative abundance studies.
He has worked on crops such as tomato, pepper, eggplant, okra, cowpea, and maize. He was part of collaborative research undertaken by scientists from the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (CABI) and Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (SARI) on the management of Fall armyworms in Ghana.
He is working with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) on circular agriculture using Black Soldier Fly as an alternative protein for feed formulation to ensure food security.
He is a member of the BNARI partnership Institution collaborating with IITA on the BSF for Bio Circular Economy and Environmental Sustainability (BBEST). He has consulted for small to medium-scale businesses on using innovative and smart agriculture techniques such as bioconversion of organic waste using Black Soldier fly larvae for sustainable wealth creation.
He is also into bio-efficacy testing of insecticides against major agricultural and medical pests. His Ph.D. focuses on using Trap-Irradiate-Release Sterile Insect Technique (TIR-SIT) as a tool in Integrated Pest Management of Bactrocera dorsalis. He is currently working on integrating beekeeping farming in pollinating passion fruit.
