Paul Alhassan Zaato is an agroecologist deeply committed to reshaping the agricultural paradigm through innovative solutions that foster sustainability, circularity, and transformative vegetable research for development. He is presently the country representative of the World Vegetable Center in Ghana and leads/supports the implementation of projects in the country. At WorldVeg, Paul plays the role of conducting research and experimentation on vegetable cropping systems, leads the centers resource mobilization and communication efforts in Ghana, design and conduct research, data analysis and reporting activities to support the development of technical standards. He has been involved in leading the development of scientific papers, technical briefs, manuals and project proposals. He currently supports the implementation of the BSF for Bio Circular Economy and Environmental Sustainability Project, Technology for Africa Agriculture Transformation Project and One CGIAR Transforming Agrifood Systems Initiative. His research interest is in the field of agroecology, sustainable agriculture, vegetable seed systems development, Indigenous vegetable production systems, Agri Knowledge/Technology transfer, food systems transformation and governance and climate smart agriculture.
