Since 2015, Dr Holten worked as a researcher focusing on the fate and behaviour, mainly transport, of pesticides in the environment and environmental exposure modelling. Before that, he worked for 14 years in the Norwegian Food Safety Authority with environmental exposure and risk assessment of pesticides (as part of the registration process). Under the BBEST project, Dr Holten is the leader of activity 3.2.3 (Chemical analysis of contaminants; pesticides, mycotoxins, veterinary drugs and antimicrobial drug resistance genes (ARG) in organic substrate, larvae and frass) under work package three conducted by NIBIO.
Welcome to the Black Soldier Fly for Bio-circular Economy and Environmental Sustainability (BBEST) project, a collaborative effort that is transforming the landscape of waste management, animal feed supply, and organic fertilizer production across Africa.
